Zapier.
Zapier connects cloud applications through simple trigger-and-action automations, with the largest connector library of any platform. It is the fastest route from a manual process to an automated one.
Where Zapier fits on a long engagement.
Breadth is the reason to use it. If two products exist, Zapier probably connects them, and a process can go from manual to automated in an afternoon without an engineer. For a great many business workflows that is entirely sufficient and nothing more is needed.
It gets expensive and awkward at volume and complexity. Per-task pricing punishes high-frequency workflows, and deeply branched logic is easier to express elsewhere. Recognising that boundary early avoids the situation where a business-critical process runs on forty chained Zaps nobody can trace.
What an assigned team does with Zapier.
The thing Zapier is best at is also how it becomes a problem: anyone can build one. After two years a business process depends on a chain nobody documented, built by someone in another department, running on a personal account.
Bringing that under ownership is most of the real work, and deciding what should move to a more capable platform is part of it — assessed as part of a standing AI automation engineering assignment.
What we use Zapier for.
- Removing a manual step quickly A recurring copy-and-paste task automated without an engineering project.
- Connecting long-tail tools Products too niche to have a connector anywhere else.
- Migrating what has outgrown it Moving high-volume or complex workflows to a platform that suits them, deliberately rather than at breaking point.
How Zapier capacity is assigned.
Assessed and assigned under AI automation engineering, including an honest view on which workflows should stay where they are. The reasoning behind delivering this from Thailand is set out in why we deliver from Thailand.
