UiPath.
UiPath is a robotic process automation platform. Software robots drive applications the way a person would — clicking, typing, reading screens — with an orchestrator managing scheduling, queues and logging across a fleet.
Where UiPath fits on a long engagement.
RPA exists because integration is often impossible rather than merely difficult. A system with no API, a vendor who will not provide one, or a contract that forbids direct database access all leave the user interface as the only available surface. Driving that interface is a pragmatic answer to a real constraint.
The fragility is inherent and should be planned for rather than denied. Automation depending on screen layout breaks when the vendor ships an update, and a robot that silently does the wrong thing after a layout change is worse than one that stops. Selector strategy and failure detection matter more than the happy path.
What an assigned team does with UiPath.
Maintenance is the cost people underestimate. An RPA estate needs continuous attention as the applications underneath it change, and a portfolio built without allocated maintenance capacity degrades into a set of broken robots and manual workarounds.
Sizing that maintenance honestly at the start is part of what scoping is for, and how it is agreed is set out in how the monthly fee is built.
What we use UiPath for.
- Systems with no integration surface Legacy and vendor applications automated through the interface, because nothing else is exposed.
- Failure that stops rather than continues Detection designed so a layout change halts the robot instead of corrupting data.
- Maintenance capacity allocated Ongoing attention budgeted, because the applications underneath keep changing.
How UiPath capacity is assigned.
RPA capacity is assigned with maintenance treated as a standing commitment rather than an occasional repair, because the surfaces it drives are outside your control.
