# Microsoft 365.

Microsoft 365 covers Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive and the Graph API that provides programmatic access across them, used for document automation, communication integration and workflow.

## Where Microsoft 365 fits on a long engagement.

The Graph API is what makes Microsoft 365 programmable as one estate rather than as separate products. Mail, calendars, files, users and Teams messages are reachable through one interface with one authentication model, which removes a great deal of per-service integration work.

Permission scopes need care because the API reaches a lot. Application permissions granting access across an entire tenant are convenient and concentrate risk severely; delegated permissions acting as a specific user are narrower and usually the correct choice.

Teams is increasingly where business processes surface. An approval that happens in a Teams message rather than in a system someone has to open completes faster, for the same reason it does in any chat platform people already use.
