[Skills](https://azendo.co/skills/) APIs and integration

# Google Workspace APIs.

Google Workspace APIs provide programmatic access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Docs and admin functions, used for document automation, scheduling and integrating Workspace data with other systems.

## Where Google Workspace APIs fits on a long engagement.

Service accounts with domain-wide delegation are the mechanism for organisational automation, and they concentrate risk accordingly. A compromised service account can access data across the domain, so scoping it narrowly and auditing its use matters more than it does for a user credential.

Sheets as a data source is extremely common and worth handling deliberately. Business teams maintain data there because it is flexible, and integrations reading it have to cope with people changing columns, adding notes and breaking formats without warning.

## What an assigned team does with Google Workspace APIs.

Quotas are per-project and per-user, and an integration that works in testing can hit limits under real load. Batch operations and exponential backoff are required rather than optional at any volume.

Building that in before production volume arrives is basic diligence, held within an agreed [committed monthly capacity](https://azendo.co/pricing/).

## What we use Google Workspace APIs for.

* Document generation at volume Reports and contracts produced from templates rather than assembled by hand.
* Spreadsheet sources handled defensively Validation that survives people changing columns without warning.
* Service account scope kept narrow Domain-wide delegation limited and audited, because it concentrates risk.

## How Google Workspace APIs capacity is assigned.

Workspace automation is assigned inside development capacity, with service account scope reviewed as a security decision.

## Service lines it sits in

Capacity is agreed as a committed monthly capacity across a discipline, not per skill.
