# FigJam.

FigJam is Figma's collaborative whiteboard for workshops, diagramming, affinity mapping and early ideation, sitting alongside design files in the same workspace.

## Where FigJam fits on a long engagement.

A shared whiteboard is how distributed teams do the work that used to need a room. Affinity mapping research findings, sketching flows together and running structured workshops all work remotely, which matters when the design capacity and the client are in different countries.

Sitting in the same workspace as the design files is a practical advantage. Workshop output stays beside the designs it informed, rather than in a separate tool that becomes an archive nobody opens.

## What an assigned team does with FigJam.

Workshops produce artefacts, not decisions, unless someone converts them. A board full of notes is raw material, and the synthesis into something actionable is the work that most often does not happen.

Treating synthesis as a deliverable rather than an afterthought is part of how design work is scoped, and what that covers is set out in [how the monthly fee is built](https://azendo.co/pricing/).

## What we use FigJam for.

* Workshops that work across time zones Collaboration that does not depend on being in one room.
* Affinity mapping research Synthesis done together, with the output beside the designs it informs.
* Synthesis as a deliverable Boards converted into decisions rather than left as raw material.

## How FigJam capacity is assigned.

Collaborative design work is assigned with synthesis scoped explicitly, since a workshop board is raw material rather than an outcome.

## Roles we assign FigJam for

* [UX Designer UX/UI design](https://azendo.co/services/ux-ui-design/ux-designer/)

## Service lines it sits in

* [UX/UI design](https://azendo.co/services/ux-ui-design/)

Capacity is agreed as a committed monthly capacity across a discipline, not per skill.
