# ERP and WMS integrations.

ERP and warehouse management integrations connect commerce and operational systems to the platforms holding inventory, orders, fulfilment and financial records, keeping them consistent across systems.

## Where ERP and WMS integrations fits on a long engagement.

Inventory accuracy across systems is the perennial problem. A storefront showing stock the warehouse does not have produces oversells and cancellations; one showing less than is available loses sales. Both come from synchronisation lag or from two systems each believing they own the number.

Deciding which system is authoritative for each entity is the design decision that prevents most integration pain. Inventory owned by the warehouse system, customers owned by the commerce platform, financial records owned by the ERP — stated explicitly rather than implied by whichever integration was built first.
