# Dovetail.

Dovetail is a research repository for storing, tagging and analysing qualitative data — interview transcripts, session notes, feedback — so findings are searchable across studies rather than trapped in individual reports.

## Where Dovetail fits on a long engagement.

Research repositories address a real waste. Studies are run, reports are written, and six months later nobody can find what was learned, so the same question is researched again. Tagged, searchable evidence makes past work reusable.

Tagging discipline is what makes or breaks it. Inconsistent tags produce a repository that technically contains the answer and cannot surface it, which is functionally the same as not having one.

## What an assigned team does with Dovetail.

The compounding value only appears over time. A repository with three studies is barely useful; one with three years of research is an organisational asset that answers questions without new fieldwork.
