# Adobe XD.

Adobe XD is Adobe's interface design and prototyping tool, integrated with Creative Cloud. Adobe has ceased active feature development, which makes it a maintenance rather than a forward-looking choice.

## Where Adobe XD fits on a long engagement.

XD is in maintenance, and that is the fact that shapes any decision about it. Files remain usable and existing work is not lost, but no new capability is arriving, and the gap against actively developed tools widens each year.

For teams with XD files the question is timing rather than direction. A migration is coming; doing it deliberately, with the component structure rebuilt properly, produces a better result than doing it urgently when something finally breaks.

## What an assigned team does with Adobe XD.

Migration is a rebuild rather than an import, and that is worth stating plainly. Automated conversion produces flattened layers and broken component relationships, and the honest estimate is closer to recreating the system than to exporting it.

Being clear about that cost before it is committed to is part of how work is scoped, and it is set out in [how the monthly fee is built](https://azendo.co/pricing/).

## What we use Adobe XD for.

* Existing files maintained Continuing work where a migration is not yet justified.
* Migration planned rather than forced A deliberate rebuild instead of an urgent one when something breaks.
* Conversion cost stated honestly A rebuild estimate rather than an import estimate.

## How Adobe XD capacity is assigned.

Design tool transitions are assigned inside design capacity, with the rebuild cost stated before a migration is agreed.

## Service lines it sits in

* [UX/UI design](https://azendo.co/services/ux-ui-design/)

Capacity is agreed as a committed monthly capacity across a discipline, not per skill.

## Tell us what your roadmap needs Adobe XD for.

A service delivery manager replies with the disciplines we would assign, the monthly capacity and what the first month looks like.
